Major changes have continued to occur in our property development this month over the Christmas break and into the start of the school year. The car park and new courts were tar sealed in early February. It is now marked out ready to use. The landscaping of the area where C Block (AT) was is almost complete and students and staff are now able to walk through.
Special thanks to all our staff who have accommodated the changes – junior school temporary location of their office to start of the year, temporary relocation of art and music to allow their buildings to be renovated, and relocation of college teachers from the social science and tech departments to allow C Block to be demolished.
On 30 November, I attended the presentation by the Governor General of a Sir George Elliot Charitable Trust award to our year 13 student, Jennifer Thonrithi. This was a huge honour for Jennifer and our school, as it is valued at over $25000 with additional network support. We also received a cheque for $500 toward the school library which was given to me by Dr Stuart Middleton on behalf of the Trust.
We are working to improve our year 13 results further in 2019 to above 70% achieving Level 3.
