Oral Language is a big part of our Year 1 programme. This involves an experience which is often captured via photographs or video clips, a lot of talk and then shared story writing. The story can then be used by the children as a reader.
Team Totara takes advantage of the opportune moment when the little digger arrived to lay the trench for our computer cables. Once back in class its reading and writing about diggers!
Year 3 students use sign language for our National Anthem. Some students were filmed participating in Mathematics for the North & South magazine and a digital story for the Ministry of Education.
Thank-you Harbourside Rotary for our awesome Dictionary. Each child in Year 4 is issued a personal dictionary.
Students attended the storylines festival. A great opportunity to meet authors, illustrators & publishers.
Students participated in the presentation of a legend for Samoan Language week, with characters speaking in Samoan and English.
