Celebrating our progress, our success, our diversity, the language weeks, maths week and who we are as the Junior School is very much a part of our culture.
Come into our foyer and follow the celebrations for the year through the photo displays or video clips.
We hold language/cultural workshops and activities in the hall from 8am Tuesday – Thursday during the various National Language weeks. These workshops are jointly organised by parents and teachers and are an opportunity for you to join in.
These are held for a variety of reasons from farewells, to special guests or for Samoan, Tongan language weeks and for Te Wiki o te reo Maori.
Activities are held in the hall from 8am during National Maths week – activities are sent home and a class / team competition is also held.
These are held in the last week of Term 1 – 3 and first week of terms 2 – 4. Here we acknowledge student success in learning, leadership and demonstration of our values.

Values club meets each Saturday during the terms – our Values Club always hosts the Terms 1 – 3 Week 9/10 Success Assembly.

Term 3 – 4 the entire school participates in a cultural group. During this time we prepare for our performance assembly which is usually held in the 2nd to last week of Term 4. We encourage students to select a different group over their 6 years at Junior School as this supports learning about other cultures. Parents support teachers in preparing the groups throughout terms 3-4 in our culture clubs time.
Clubs offered most years are: Maori, Fijian, Indian, Folk Dancing, Dance, Choir, Samoan, Tongan and Cook Island.
Prizegiving is our most prestigious event. It is held in the College gym to accommodate all our parents, students and guests. During the prizegiving we acknowledge students, parents and teachers for their successes.
