In order to achieve strong foundations for literacy learning, we take a school wide approach to the teaching of literacy that is informed by current research and the use of quality resources.
We aim to provide appropriate and timely intervention for students who are struggling with literacy. Our current interventions include Reading Recovery, ESOL withdrawal and in class support, groups withdrawn for additional support and once every two years we have the Resource teacher of Literacy at the school. In 2012 we will have introduced the Rainbow Reading Programme.

Since 2013 we have been working on an Inquiry based pedagogy and Roberta Hunter and her team of mentors have done some intensive professional development with our staff. This pedagogy had supported our staff to further enhance their understanding of cultural responsiveness.
Our mathematics teaching is based on this model which allows students to have greater ownership of their learning
